FutureMeds will contribute experience from European research sites and home trial delivery to discussions about how sponsors, CROs, sites and service providers can improve study planning and delivery.

More complex protocols and changing treatment options are placing new demands on the organisations delivering clinical research. Decisions about study design, resources and operating processes affect one another and ultimately shape whether patients can participate and remain in a study.

As a Global Impact Partner of the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), FutureMeds will bring experience from our dedicated research sites across Europe and our FutureMeds @home service to these discussions.

Connecting decisions across study delivery

“Each organisation involved in a clinical study brings a different perspective, leading to deliver better outcome for patients. SCRS provides a forum to understand how decisions in one part affect the others. By shaping these discussions together, we can encourage earlier dialogue on development priorities, bring investigator and patient input into protocol design, and build a shared understanding of capacity needs improving coordination across the organisations responsible for delivery.”

— Nachiket Chandak, Chief Commercial Officer

These discussions also matter once a study is underway. Recruitment assumptions may need revisiting as treatment options change. New requirements may affect site workload or the practical demands on participants. How information reaches the relevant partners, and how they respond, can influence the impact on delivery.

Bringing European site and patient experience into the discussion

FutureMeds teams work across different healthcare systems, referral pathways and arrangements for supporting participants. Its combination of dedicated sites and home trial services provides experience of coordinating study activities across locations and organisations.

That experience can help explain how study plans work in practice: how patients reach research sites, what makes a visit schedule manageable, which activities require additional coordination and where responsibilities need to be clearer.

“As study requirements evolve, we need to examine how the operating models of sponsors, CROs and sites fit together. That includes how responsibilities are shared, systems exchange information and capacity is planned. Through SCRS, we want to contribute our experience of operating across countries and examine where changes between organisations could reduce duplicated work, support consistent quality and give teams more time for participants.”

— Marcin Gondek, Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Contributing through SCRS

Our wider SCRS involvement also includes Strategic Development Director, Piotr (Peter) Sawicki’s work on the European Site Solutions Summit organising committee and our participation in the SCRS Global Oncology Program.

Through these forums, the company intends to contribute operational examples, learn from organisations working in different settings and examine how proposed changes would affect the teams and patients involved.

Bringing site and patient experience closer to decisions can help partners identify practical consequences earlier and agree how to address them.
