Birmingham's demographic and socioeconomic diversity, combined with its substantial population and strong healthcare infrastructure, make it an ideal location for a clinical research site focused on patient diversity.

According to the latest census data, nearly half of the population comes from ethnic minority backgrounds, including large communities of South Asian, African, Caribbean, and Eastern European descent.

The FutureMeds Birmingham dedicated research site is located in a large, well-known, easily accessible NHS Health Centre in the city centre.

Through community engagement and building, our team's highlighted the meaning of research across multiple patient advocacy groups, academic associations, universities and patient communities.

"At FutureMeds Birmingham, we partner with 30 NHS GP practices, reaching over 70,000 patients. Despite the high distrust in research, thanks to our grassroots community engagement and tailored approach, 20% of patients randomised come from diverse backgrounds."
