FutureMeds rolls out the Short Friday scheme across the company to improve the wellbeing, wellness and morale of teams, increase productivity and improve the patient experience.
The Short Friday scheme is one of the areas we are exploring to enhance the wellbeing and morale of our people, improve patient experience and strengthen our contribution to clinical research.
“By supporting our people to have better, more restful breaks, we aim to boost employee wellness and wellbeing. We firmly believe that the ripple effects of this scheme will benefit our patients, clients, partners and our whole organisation.”
- Dr Piotr Rozpondek, Managing Director of FutureMeds Poland
How our teams benefit
We are aware that many people in our FutureMeds family reserve the weekend to take care of tasks that could not be done during the week. But running errands or even taking care of personal admin can eat into the time that can be used for actual rest.
Based on our experience, shortening the workweek and giving some extra time for employees to rest and recover can decrease stress, prevent burnout in the long run and improve the wellness, wellbeing and morale of our teams.
“Thanks to the introduction of Short Friday and the extended weekend, I can spend more quality time with my family, have better rest and balance my private and professional life. And all this without lowering my salary!”
- Ewelina Korus, Research Coordinator at FutureMeds DRS Targowek
How our patients & volunteers benefit
Communication is a fundamental pillar of FutureMeds’ patient-centric trial approach. Therefore we strive to ensure that our teams provide the best possible care throughout our trial process. Tired and disengaged people can’t do that.
Well-rested, focused, engaged teams are more likely to be able to have higher-quality interactions with volunteers, give emotional support, build trust, help volunteers make informed choices and guide them through the trial process.
“Short Friday is a huge bonus for me. It motivates me a lot and strengthens my commitment and trust in FutureMeds. I can use the extra free time to pursue my passions. It is also a strong motivator for me to better manage my work time.”
- Maciek – Registration/ Patient Service at FutureMeds DRS Warsaw
How clients benefit
Companies that have adopted a shorter work week have observed a reduction in overall absenteeism and sick time use and increased productivity and engagement.
Throughout our work in the clinical research industry, we learned that having a knowledgeable, engaged team of professionals with hands-on experience is central to streamlining the clinical trial process, increasing patient experience and protecting study timelines.
“Since the initial Short Friday trial in Poland, we noticed that our teams’ motivation has increased, and they have become more committed to FutureMeds and our mission. Their boost in morale and productivity also has a positive impact on the outcomes we generate for our clients.”
- Dr Piotr Rozpondek, Managing Director of FutureMeds Poland
How Short Fridays strengthen FutureMeds
While stability remains an important factor when choosing a place of employment, talent value freedom, autonomy, and work-life balance.
We believe in implementing initiatives that genuinely improve the workplace and our teams’ day-to-day experience. With the adoption of Short Friday, we aim to highlight that we value our people’s work and support their personal growth.
“It is nice when a company considers and values employees’ proposals. We feel that our opinion, comments and observations are important to the management. Plus, it’s nice to have more time for yourself and your loved ones.”
- Edyta Kuszewska, Research Nurse at FutureMeds DRS Lodz
