A thrilling trekking adventure in Poland's Sudetes mountains brought FutureMeds’ IT team closer together and set the stage for future transformational advancements in patient experience and trial outcomes.
As the clinical trial challenges continue to evolve, FutureMeds' IT team set its sights firmly on improving patient outcomes through technology, operations, strategic partnerships and a relentless dedication to patient-centred care.
Led by Grzegorz Krówczyński, Vice President of IT, our team implemented several transformative initiatives in recent months.
These include a new CTMS system across all Dedicated Research Sites, various IT security solutions, a standardised IT infrastructure, and developed an array of internal applications for the entire FutureMeds organisation.
These initiatives have had a profound impact on several key areas:
Streamlined Processes: By leveraging IT solutions to reduce or even eliminate repetitive manual work, our Dedicated Research Site teams can minimise errors, improve efficiency, enhance data hygiene, and shift focus to activities that elevate patient experience.
Improved Communication: As more trials are moving to virtual or decentralised models, our IT team aims to futureproof our communication tech stack and processes. By implementing tools and platforms that foster effective communication across the site network, our IT team ensures the seamless flow of critical information.
Enhanced Security: Our IT team takes data security seriously. They continuously bolster security measures to prevent breaches, protect volunteer and patient information, and safeguard our organisation and sites from potential incidents.
Increased Data Analytics & Insights Capabilities: The implementation of advanced Business Intelligence solutions empowers teams across FutureMeds to generate insights from large datasets and make data-driven decisions faster and more efficiently.
Through process innovation, collaboration and the adoption of the latest technologies & industry best practices, our IT team plays a pivotal role in enhancing clinical trial outcomes, reducing trial timeline risks, and supporting our site teams in their pursuit of excellence.
The recipe for success: teamwork
Grzegorz exemplified the importance of teamwork through the IT team’s recent team-building trekking in Poland's picturesque Sudetes mountains.
This initiative, aimed at fostering camaraderie and collaboration, saw the IT team battle unpredictable weather conditions, ranging from sunshine to battering rain, strong wind to snow, pushing their physical and mental limits to reach the summits together. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the team managed to add two new peaks to their collection of the Crown of Polish Mountains.
“On Saturday, we hiked for approximately 15 kilometres in the Izerskie Mountains, reaching their highest peak - Wysoka Kopa, at 1126 meters above sea level. The next day, our goal was to climb the highest peak in Karkonosze and the Sudetes - Śnieżka, which stands at a height of 1603 meters above sea level. Despite the challenging terrain and changing weather conditions, we managed to hike another 25 kilometres on our way to Śnieżka, making the entire trip a total of 40 kilometres of hiking over the weekend.”
- Grzegorz Krówczyński, Vice President of IT
Through this adventure, the team shared a sense of accomplishment, they found a new appreciation for each other's strengths and far from the noise of civilisation, they bonded in a cosy forest lodge, sharing stories and laughter, creating lasting memories and connections.
“This trip was aimed at building even stronger bonds within the team and promoting team integration in a different form. Such trips offer an opportunity to work together towards a common goal and to support one another in challenging situations. Trekking through the mountains can be physically demanding, but it also requires mental strength, resilience, and teamwork. These experiences help us understand and appreciate the strengths of our colleagues and foster mutual trust and respect.”
Vision for the future
“My vision for our team is to continuously grow and evolve, both as individuals and as a group, so that we can achieve even greater heights in our professional endeavours. Our recent team-building trip to the Sudetes mountains was a perfect example of how we can work together towards a common goal and support one another in challenging situations.”
Collaboration doesn't end within the company. FutureMeds actively seeks out partnerships with like-minded solution providers and technology companies.
With a vision of continued growth and evolution, both individually and as a team, FutureMeds Vice President of IT aims to conquer new "peaks" in the workplace, improve patient outcomes and help FutureMeds make strides towards becoming Europe's most respected Site Network.
