FutureMeds Ukraine is soon to open a new hospital-based dedicated research site in Lviv, in a strategic partnership with Sheptytsky Hospital, a highly respected institution with deep roots in community care and social mission.

FutureMeds’ brand-new hospital-based dedicated research site that will support early-phase and later-phase clinical trials, with a therapeutic focus on cardiology, rheumatology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and CNS, set to be operational later this year.

“I’m proud to partner with the Sheptytsky Hospital. Like FutureMeds, the hospital is a values-driven organisation with a well-earned reputation and deep trust within the community. Its infrastructure and commitment to social service create a fertile ground for clinical research to thrive and bring substantial benefits to patient communities and opportunities to physicians in the region.”

Dr Ivan Vyshnyvetskyy, Managing Director at FutureMeds Ukraine

Sheptytsky Hospital, established in 1903, is a reputable charitable medical institution owned by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, currently serving more than 60,000 patients annually, providing an excellent foundation for patient engagement and recruitment.

Rooted in the legacy of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky and his commitment to human dignity, Sheptytsky Hospital has built a strong reputation for its individualised, inclusive, and ethical care.

Its motto “A professional clinic of health and love” reflects its mission to deliver not only medical services but also psychological and social support to all who enter its doors.

Their strong community trust and commitment to social service make them an ideal partner to help turn this site and hospital into an important research hub in the region.

“Through our collaboration with FutureMeds, Sheptytsky Hospital will be able to expand its provision of charitable medical care — something that has become especially vital for sustaining the resilience of our country and society during wartime. At the same time, the hospital joins the global community of medical innovation and progress. For our team, this marks a proud moment as we revive the long-standing tradition of scientific research at our institution, which was once home to the founding of the Medical Society that helped shape modern medical standards in Galicia in the early 20th century. We thank our partners at FutureMeds for their trust and collaboration.”

Fr. Dr. Andriy Lohin, Director, Sheptytsky Hospital Charitable Foundation

This strategic collaboration further reinforces Ukraine’s growing role as a valuable contributor to global clinical research and brings new opportunities to patients and physicians alike in Western Ukraine.

About Sheptytsky Hospital

Founded in 1903 by Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, Sheptytsky Hospital began as a “People’s Hospital,” dedicated to providing medical care to those in need—regardless of nationality or religion. After decades of operating as a city hospital, it regained its non-governmental status in 1992 and today stands as a unique, licensed medical institution under the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Sheptytsky Hospital serves over 60,000 patients annually with a comprehensive and compassionate model of care. Grounded in the principles of human dignity, compassion, and responsibility, the hospital offers both outpatient and inpatient services that integrate physical and mental healthcare.

The hospital is distinguished by its:

  • Holistic, personalised care that addresses medical, psychological, and social needs

  • Wide range of modern, family-friendly medical services

  • Inclusive and patient-centred approach, with flexibility to meet diverse needs

  • Commitment to quality, accessibility, and support for all social groups

Sheptytsky Hospital continues to honour its founding mission while evolving to meet the needs of today’s patients through innovation, empathy, and community-centred care.
